How long we keep things
These are the periods this website enforces automatically, every night:
- Failed sign-in attempts (the email typed, the connection and the browser): 30 days.
- The connection address from a member’s last visit: removed 30 days after they stop visiting.
- The connection address kept with a forum post, for moderators: 90 days.
- Notifications in your account: read ones 180 days, unread ones 365 days.
- “Recently viewed” products: 90 days.
- Mailing-list sign-ups nobody confirmed: 14 days.
- Support tickets: 2 years after they are closed.
- Orders: 6 years, because the shop must keep them for its tax records; after that the name and address on them are wiped.
- Everything else in your account: for as long as you have one, and until you delete it.
Your data in your account
If you have an account, you can download a copy of everything we hold about you, or delete your account, from Account → Privacy & data once you sign in. For anything else — or if you have no account — email [email protected].
Emails
We email offers and news only to people who ticked the box or clicked the confirmation link in the email we sent to their address. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also switch it off under Account → Notifications. An address that has unsubscribed stays on a do-not-email list so we don’t write to it again.
Who else handles your data
- Stripe takes card payments on its own checkout page. Your card number never reaches this website.
- Cloudflare passes the site’s traffic through its network to protect it from attacks.
- Our hosting and email providers store the site’s data and deliver its emails.
- Couriers receive the delivery name, address and phone number for your order.
- Usercentrics supplies the policy text above, and sees your connection address when this page loads.
